Moose Hunting
The Elk Valley has a strong Shiras Moose population, with some of the best moose habitat in the East Kootenays. Shiras Moose rut from late September through to early October, and for the archery hunter this provides an exciting opportunity to call these giant animals in to very close quarters. Our rifle hunts typically start Oct. 15th, and involves spot and stalk hunting while covering their favourite haunts.
Bulls average 45-50 inches in spread, with some even exceeding that. These animals are on a quota, so expect to book a year in advance.
